Thank You Senator Sanders
November 17, 2009admin No Comments »I was introduced to Senator Bernie Sanders by Brave New Films via one of their many campaigns Senator Sanders Unflitered. I’m so thankful for this introduction because in Senator Sanders’ most recent segment, he assess the 1900 page health care bill the House passed on November 7, 2009. In Senator Sanders Unfiltered, he is asked a simple question, “Is any actual reform going to be accomplished?”

Senator Bernie Sanders
His response is about 5 minutes long. He is thoughtful, funny and concise. Some of his highlights; expanding primary health care, disease prevention, insurance reform concerning pre-existing conditions and denying coverage when someone becomes ill. The Stupak amendment and how harmful it is to women. He does ask the question of who is going to pay for this bill, (something I would like to know myself). He also mentioned the many pharmaceutical companies and health insurance corporations that are trying to kill health care reform. But my favorite part of his response is when he talks about Single Payer Insurance and that states should have the option to move forward into a Single Payer system. He noted California and Pennsylvania, two states that have strong legislation for single payer. Now, that is encouraging to hear. Again this segment is only 5 minutes and well worth watching.

There are polls to take and petitions to sign; things I like to do when I visit any website. You can also become a fan of Senator Sanders and Senator Sanders Unfiltered on Facebook. I did both.
Once again, thank you Senator Sanders. To the people of Vermont you are lucky to have the Independent Bernie Sanders on your side.
